Confey 5.11
Balyna 3.9

Confey ladies secured the Kildare Senior Championship in style yesterday beating Balyna in a physical intense game. Balnya started well going two points ahead in the first few minutes showing no signs of nerves and laying down a marker early. Confey stood up to the challenge and class act Deirdre Gately had the ball in the back of the net in reply. Ciara Hogan flying from half back added to the tally with a point off the woodwork. Deirdre Gately added another goal to her tally after a sublime pass from midfielder Cj Hogan. Balnya pressed forward running straight at the confey defence. The backs were disciplined in their tackling particularly Sarah Munnelly forcing turnovers and wides. Rachel Divilly and Emma Mc Cartney showed great movement in the full forward line and their hard work resulting in a strong lead at half time.
The second half was a battle, not helped by the pouring of rain. Possession was key for both sides with Balyna really applying the pressure. They got back within four points before Confey sealed the deal with another goal. Hard work was the main ingredient for this winning recipe led by the outstanding Orla O Shea at centre half back.
A great win for the Confey ladies, a double win for the season, league and championship.
